Welcome to this morning’s Daily View. We’ll be changing the format of this a little over the next four weeks, in order to better reflect the way the general and local elections campaigns are progressing, so here are my thoughts four weeks out from polling day.
2 big political stories
Digital Economy Bill forced through by Labservatives
We’ve all heard the news, but those interested to see exactly how the #debill progressed through the Commons last night, the Guardian live blog makes interesting, if ultimately depressing reading .
Voters doubt Cameron’s readiness to lead
A Populus poll for The Times shows that more voters now expect a hung Parliament, than believe that the Tories can win outright.
Roughly a third of voters are either undecided or say they may yet change their minds. Two fifths of voters believe that while it is time for a change from Labour they are not sure that it is time for a change in favour of the Tories.
A big majority of the doubters believe that the Conservatives have not made a strong enough case for a change from Labour and half think that Mr Cameron is too inexperienced to be prime minister.

A tour of the Nick Clegg battle bus
After meeting Nick and the Lib Dem battle bus in Watford on Tuesday, I was interested to see the tour of the inside of the battle bus from Alex Folkes.
The bus has huge graphics on both sides with the campaign slogan and images of Nick and Vince. Nobody will fail to see us coming!
Why vote?
For those disappointed that a flawed electoral system means that over half the UK’s MPs have already been decided, Mat Bowles asks the big question.
The Conservative party says they like the voting system as is, rotten boroughs, safe seats, differential turnout and all. It’s a damn shame that they’ve never bothered to try and understand it.
Happy campaigning everyone!
