I was hoping for a horoscope-style “IE6 users are traditional, steady and make long-lasting friendships” style piece to rubbish, but this is a more interesting review of the state of the browser market.
The key to the future of browsers may not be on desktops at all, but on mobile devices. In the next five years, in the view of many experts, more people will be connecting to their internet via their smartphones and tablets than via their desktops or laptops. This will doubtless break Microsoft’s stranglehold, but it’s not necessarily beneficial to browser diversity: most mobile devices come with default browsers
Mephodrone Ban could do more harm than good
That’s what Prof. David Nutt is saying, according to the Telegraph.
He said the Government should have waited for the results of a study from The European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction, which is due to report in July.
Speaking ahead of a lecture at Greenwich University, he said: ”We need a new approach with dealing with these synthetic drugs.
”I wonder if there may be alternative approaches.
”I find it very difficult to support criminalisation of people who are using drugs which are less dangerous than alcohol.”
He criticised the Government’s ”knee-jerk” reaction over the ”supposed problem” which has been ”whipped up” into a hysteria.

Link for the first story not there, would be good to read.
In my experience, inbuilt browsers are getting a lot better, but Opera Mini/Mobile still knocks most of them for 6. Given that a lot of phones are being built on open source tech, the default install is probably not a major issue.
