Election fever continues, and the Conservatives are ready for a snap general election, according to the BBC:
“The party has a £10m war chest, a draft manifesto and candidates selected in its top 200 target seats, sources close to leader David Cameron have said.”
Which is interesting, because they have not selected a candidate here in Islington South & Finsbury. It seems Dave accepts that with no Conservatives on the Council, and just 484 votes between Lib Dems and Labour here last time, there are better spots to plant his blue tree.
* Bridget Fox is Liberal Democrat PPC for Islington South & Finsbury

The Tories haven’t got a candidate in Southport either, which is one of their target seats.
We don’t have one for harrogate, which is a held seat. Ready isn’t going to mean everything is perfect for any party in this kind of circumstance.
More ready to make ready, if you get the meaning.
My extended family may not be ready but will we seize the opportunity ?
Remember 2005 Michael Howard and Tory Party in meltdown? We were found wanting, lacking ambition and as always building the never ending extension instead of moving house !
There has never been a time in British politics when the official opposition looks and is ready to surrender. Sadly, as good lib dems who run round key seats with pigeon power our end result may just be what our spreadsheets say…. Marginal gains, comparative loses and a shift towards greater gains in the period post a 2050 election.
Ming, summon your strength, find your hunger and eat Cameron for breakfast. The tories can loose the might of their numbers but if we dont, it may well be you who is heading for the backbenches !
Lord Rennard look beyond the barrels of your nose and inject some viagra into your troops. You have the window to blast your way further. Brown maybe basking in glory but little Dave is running for cover !
Attack and attack across the country and put some fire into that belly of yours !!
Remember, if we only have what we have this time round, then you are safe but, if we get less ,then the hands of change must set about their work from top to bottom, frontline, engine room, back office and country wide…
That last comment has given me very disturbing thoughts…
There are certainly a few vacant seats around the country, but I don’t think an autumn election will be won or lost on that basis as someone will obviously be put in place should the need arise.
Whilst in Bury North where there are no Liberal Democrat Councillors and no PPC Ming might as well admit his party won’t win the seat.
The tories candidate in bedford looks set to emigrate to New York, following the loss of over 10 council candidates.
