The LDV Saturday caption competition – the “David Cameron sucks bitter lemon” edition

There’s no prize at stake – just the opportunity to prove you’re wittier than any other LDV reader …

Here’s Tory leader David Cameron responding to Nick Clegg’s stellar performance in the first televised leaders debate. What might he be thinking?

The winner of our most recent caption competition, the “Why David Heath’s not bitter” edition last month – according to The Voice’s judging panel of one – was this old-ones-are-the-best from Simon Titley.

  • I love that picture, it’s priceless! 😀

I wish from now on, it will always be used when reporting about Cameron, at least during the election campaign. It surely beats the picture of Clegg that the Telegraph is using. 😉

  • “Mr Cameron, how do you react to reports that Chris Grayling is preparing a leadership bid?”

  • Anthony Aloysius St 17th Apr '10 - 1:02pm

He appears to be metamorphosing into Charles Hawtrey.

Much-loved as that actor was, I’m not sure it’s a good idea.

“Oh dear – I think they agree with Nick!”

  • “Mr Cameron – China have just launched a pre-emptive attack…”

  • Lorna Spenceley 17th Apr '10 - 5:30pm

Ooh, I think that uncomfortable feeling could be my majority slipping …

  • “I ‘ate you, Butler!”

(just needs a toothbrush ‘tache to make it complete though)

Somebody just reminded me that Cameron means “crooked nose”.

  • Mr Cameron Sir, we’ve put the Lib Dem Policies under greater scrutiny
a new poll in the Mail on Sunday shows they are more popular than ours:

84% of people agree with the Lib Dem plan for no tax on the first £10,000 of wages
77% agree with a mansion tax on houses worth over £2 million
46% want to scrap Britain nuclear weapons
49% want to scrap higher rate tax relief on pensions

Sorry, a bit long for a witty caption competition – but exactly what is reported in the Mail on Sunday today.

  • “Do you want to see my Sam the Eagle impression?”

  • Anthony Aloysius St 18th Apr '10 - 1:55pm

This is quite funny – the David Cameron anecdote generator:

I agree with Nick but I can’t say so because my party will lynch me.
