If the Daily Record’s Ross McCafferty had followed Stephen Tall, he might not have said what he did in a wee bit of eve of poll banter:
It all started when I tweeted about the Eve of Poll rally in Alex Cole-Hamilton’s HQ:
@caronmlindsay @MikeCrockart interesting. But ACH has been confident before. Failure to win it raises some questions
— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) May 4, 2016
When Mike Crockart got involved, things got interesting…
@RJMcL @caronmlindsay @MikeCrockart I'd bet my beard they don't win. And that's been 3 months hard growing
— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) May 4, 2016
Then this happened. I was there, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching it:
Alex Cole-Hamilton gains Edinburgh Western with an increase of 14.1% for the Lib Dems #sp16 https://t.co/1lN016od0W https://t.co/0H5OpftBwM
— STV News (@STVNews) May 6, 2016
In the morning, the awful reality hit him:
The face of a sleep deprived man who bet his beard the lib dems wouldn't win Edinburgh https://t.co/Tx4OP9oGPs pic.twitter.com/3HCR2Rggl3
— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) May 6, 2016
Like a good sport, he made good on his bet, though.
Never let I'd be said I'm not a man of my word. @agcolehamilton @MikeCrockart @caronmlindsay @scotlibdems pic.twitter.com/gm8lofjU3R

Now there’s just the small matter of this to resolve…

Actually I shocked that without the beard Ross looks younger than when I first met him about 9 years ago (also clean shaven). Check his attic for an ageing portrait of himself.
