Top of the Blogs: The Golden Dozen #57

Welcome to the 57th of our weekly round-ups from the Lib Dem blogosphere, featuring the seven most popular stories according to click-throughs from the Aggregator (16th-22nd March), together with a quintet hand-picked by Lib Dem blog readers you might otherwise have missed.

Let’s get straight down to it, in descending order of popularity:

1. Is it all done and dusted? on Bob Shaw’s perpetually name-changing blog, this week called The House of Cards.
Hmm, nothing like looking at the glass half-full, is there? And this post is nothing like that.

2. ‘Labour support down to lowest since Michael Foot was Leader’ on Meral Ece’s Meral’s Musings blog.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer party.

3. Another two Conservative flops in London by-elections on Lib Dem Voice.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer party.

4. A woman scorn’d on Bob Shaw’s The House of Cards blog.
In case you hadn’t OD-ed on Sir Paul & Lady Heather, here’s the Lib Dem version… Lembit and Sian.

5. Local elections 2008: a preview on Lib Dem Voice.
Just six weeks to go.

6. Lembit Opik Unbowed on Jonathan Fryer’s blog.
Always happy to turn the other cheek, is Lembit.

7. Rubbing my hands with glee as I read of another attack on me by a Labour MP on Jonathan Wallace’s blog.
They don’t like it up ’em.

And now to the five slots we reserve under the category ‘well worth reading even if they didn’t get the most clicks this week’. Thanks to those who submitted this week’s nominations. Remember, all you have to do is drop me a line at [email protected], highlighting the best Lib Dem blog postings from the past week (providing the web-link and author, and any tagline comment you care to have published).

8. The Liberal Democrats glimpse their narrative on Neil Stockley’s blog.
A new politics, a safe pair of hands, a high-risk strategy… or perhaps a fusion of all three.

9. Have I left it toooo late to start chatting about Spring Conference! on Linda Jack’s Lindyloo’s Muze blog.
No, Linda.

10. Is Nick Harvey happy being the unacceptable face of Parliament on James Graham’s Quaequam Blog! blog.
Has Nick gone native? James thinks yes.

11. Matthew Taylor’s great-grandfather was Liberal MP for Harborough
on Jonathan Calder’s Liberal England blog.
An exemplum of the arcana that makes Jonathan’s blog essential reading.

12. Brian Paddick launches his autobiography
on Alex’s A Lanson Boy blog.
With pictures and everything.

And that’s it for another week… Happy blogging!

  • Wow! Like buses. Nothing for ages then two in a week. I must be improving. Not sure I agree that changing the name of my blog twice actually constitutes pepetually but what the heck!
