Mike Smithson had no doubt about the winner of last night’s ITV London/LBC mayoral debate.

And he wasn’t alone. Caroline’s strong performance attracted praise from unexpected quarters.

Of course Caroline outclassed her opponents. What else would anyone expect?
She was head and shoulders above the others
Can’t wait for her to do the Norman Smith taxi interview. Does anyone know when that is going to be on?
Wow, that was excruciating! No, not Caroline (who is as marvellous as everyone has said), but the general pace and level of interruption going on in that debate! Clearly, one hour is tight to allow five candidates to debate positions on that many areas at the best of times, but the chairing of that particular hour left a lot to be desired! Am I alone in wishing we could just ask the same question of each candidate, and actually give them a minute to set out an answer?
Great stuff 🙂
BBC have just said that Caroline’s interview in a taxi (!) with Norman Smith is on the Victoria Derbyshire show about 9.35am tomorrow.
I tend to disagree with the view that she won this debate, I thought it was fairly even. If anyone shone I thought it was the lady from the Greens. That said I caught a few minutes of the “interview in a taxi” earlier this evening and from the little I saw she came across very well.
Mike Smithson is a Liberal Democrat, so “Well he would say that, wouldn’t he?”
