Lord Owen wasn’t knows as “Dr Death” for nothing. If I were Chris Huhne I would undergo an exorcism. What did the poor man ever do to deserve Owen’s endorsement?
What a coincidence this comes Ming is getting more traction in the polls.
I would not be surprised to see Owen join the Tories soon. It is well indicated in both Owen’s and Major’s autobiographies that he would have taken the Tory whip if he held his seat in 92.
The Guardian have changed that on their website (to “a senior figure from the liberal movement” which is still a little dubious) and I hear they will be printing a correction tomorrow.

“Huhne leadership ambitions dashed as Owen lends support”
Someone ought to tell the BBC that Huhne is 52, not 42.
Dr. Owen should perhaps give more reflection on the current fortunes of his own party, rather than commenting on ours.
Now what has Owen got against Chris Huhne in particular…?
We may all have a go at Owen but deep down we know he’s right. I agree Huhne or even better Clegg, but lets wait and see what May brings.
Lord Owen, in a bid to remind people he used to be quite famous once today said….
Remind me how old Ronald Reagan was when he was relected to the White House? Was he not 73 – and 74 when he assumed office?
And how old was Golda Meir when she became Prime Minister of Israel? Was she not over 80?

Owen is just a bitter old Tory. Vile man.
I tried emailing the Guardian to tell them the Owen is not a “party stalwart”, but they didn’t bother to reply or alter the wording on their website
This really is a pathetic non-story.
All of the old media seems more obsessed than ever with “process stories” than reporting on substantive policies, which actually affect people.

Chris Huhne is 42.
“a senior figure from the liberal movement”
Dubious? – Dr Owen may sue 🙂
