Written by Stephen Tall on 5th September 2007 – 12:19 am

We asked:
Should the Liberal Democrats back demands for a referendum on the European Union reform treaty?

You said:
Yes - 54% (85)
No - 37% (57)
Don’t know yet - 9% (14)
Total Votes : 156

This poll is now closed. A new poll will shortly go live inviting LDV readers to vote for one of the short-listed blogs in the ‘Best designed’ category of this year’s Liberal Democrat Blog of the Year awards.

  1. Xrypto Says:

Since the voters voted for a referendum on the EU Consistution, should we have a vote on which position we take? eg. for/against?

  2. Chris Paul Says:

Will be interested in seeing whether this result is replicated by the party at large and in HoP, and just what appears on Focus leaflets and bogus local paper facsimiles over this in the coming months.

I imagine a grab for the Daily Mail ground will be irresistable and that the mature debate on the proposed poll, and far more importantly the actual Treaty, could actually be rather hissy.

PS I’m not sure the voters did any such thing as voted for a referendum on this.
