Top of the Blogs: The Golden Dozen #66

Welcome to the (belated) 66th of our weekly round-ups from the Lib Dem blogosphere, featuring the seven most popular stories according to click-throughs from the Aggregator (18th-24th May), together with a hand-picked quintet you might otherwise have missed.

Let’s get straight down to it, in descending order of popularity:

1. UPDATED: The dangers of Nick Clegg’s statement of “hung parliament” support for the Tories on Paul Walter’s Liberal Burblings blog.
Would the Lib Dems back the Tories if they were the largest single party but lacked a majority? Yes, says the Telegrah. No, says Team Clegg and the Chief Burbler.

2. LATEST: Clegg ‘unambiguously’ denies Telegraph story regarding “hung parliament” support for the Tories on Paul Walter’s Liberal Burblings blog
The saga continues…

3. The Crewe Result on Jo Anglezarke’s Jo’s Jottings blog.
With a big shout-out to Crewe Lib Dem candidate Elizabeth Shenton.

4. Boris: “The more Deputy Mayors, the merrier!” on Helen Duffetts Paint The Town Orange blog.
The new Mayor starts as he intends to Carry On.

5. Crewe and Nantwich on Steve Cooke’s blog.
An eye-witness account.

6. Tamsin Dunwoody: Iron Lady or Freak? on James Graham’s Quaequam Blog!
How Labour’s Crewe campaign plumbed new depths.

7. How Lib Dem MPs voted in the abortion debate by Stephen Tall [who he?, Ed.] on Lib Dem Voice.
Doing exactly what it says on the tin.

And now to the five slots we reserve under the category ‘well worth reading even if they didn’t get the most clicks this week’. This week, there’s a bit of a by-election theme… Remember, if you do want to highlight a Lib Dem blog article published in the past seven days – your own, or someone else’s – all you have to do is drop me a line at [email protected] (providing the web-link and author, and any tagline comment you care to have published).

8. Let’s face it, anything but a comfortable Tory win should be unthinkable on Nich Starling’s Norfolk Blogger blog.
Quite.

9. A Henley Strategy on Andy Hinton’s Mindrobber blog.
Exposing the vacuous, policy-free Tories as, erm, vacuous policy-free Tories.

10. C&N – Not so much a disaster, more a wake up call on Linda Jack’s Lindy Loo’s Muze bog.
Worth reading… and scrolling down to Chris Rennard’s response to Linda.

11. Campaigning in Crewe from the comfort of Muswell Hill… on Alix Mortimer’s The Rpeublic of Mortimer blog.
The joys of virtual and vicarious by-electioneering.

12. Crewe and changing my mind on Andy Strange’s Process Guy blog.
The Tories have the ‘big mo’, the Lib Dems have turned the corner, and Labour have pinned their hopes on Gordon Brown. ‘Nuff said.

And that’s it for another week… happy blogging and Henley campaigning.
