After all the infighting in the Labour Party over their Ealing Southall candidate selection, it’s perhaps no surprise that the Ealing Labour Party’s official website – www.ealinglabour.com – isn’t saying anything about their candidate:
As the screenshot above shows, there’s no story about his selection, whilst doing a search on his name rather nicely simply gives the message “Insert content here”:
Who knows, perhaps the website is run by one of the Labour factions that doesn’t like their candidate, Virendra Sharma?

It is not even the constituency website! What a terribly thin little story this is.
Come on, do you expect Labour to have a mega link on their website to a piece about their selection problems? Or to headlin with something like this “After infights we have selected a candidate”?
It’s natural that they don’t mention it on their website…like it’s natural that LD website report the PA line about being a Lab-LD fight and not The Times article where anonymoys LD MPs brief about LD candidate not being strong. Or should we expect a link to it on LD website?
Andrea, sometimes briefers are anonymous because they don’t exist. Or they are Steve Pound disguising his voice.

They appeared. True or untrue, it doesn’t really matter in the point I was making: I don’t expect LD website to report them unlike I would expect them (as they did) to report the AP line about the Lab-LD straight fight. The same thing with Lab website: I expect them to report favourable press and not the negative one.
Andrea – of course you wouldn’t expect them to list the bad news. But the point is that there is no news at all. No good news story about their candidate being selected. No good news story about the campaign. No good news story pointing people at the candidate’s website. And as for the Labour candidate’s record as a councillor – all it says is “insert content here”
Mr Paul:- the website says it is for “Ealing Labour”. There is a Parliamenty by-election in Ealing. I would have thought that “Ealing Labour” would want to mention the by-election taking place in their own borough. I cannot think of any reason why they would not mention the election and not provide any link to their election website, except for saying that the person/people who run the Ealing Labour website have fallen out very badly with Mr Sharma and his campaign.
So let us see compare what it says on Nigel’s election page in the News articles as Mark Pack thinks that talking about the candidate is a must for the websites.

or maybe that their internet efforts aren’t very good. From my experience Labour usually hasn’t great websites for CLPs and local parties (they even have some MPs without a website)
Mr Staircase:- the stories about the visits all mention Nigel, which makes four articles in seven days about what Nigel Bakhai has been doing. Your point was? PS Nice use of “our eye” but I am doubtful that you are really a Liberal Democrat.

No. Comment 1 and 2 were about that it’s natural that party websites just link to favourable stories and not negative ones.
Comment 3 was about the lack of updates and a potential explantion of them (as you weren’t able to think of any other reason, I provided you of a new potential one…I didn’t say it was the one (the “maybe” at the beginning) as I don’t place myself as the holder of the absolute truth.
I can offer you other potential explantions: the ones running the website are on verge of defecting to LDs and so they don’t update it with the new candidate, the ones running the website are on holiday, the ones running the website have been kidnapped by the aliens, the one running the website are busy in copying LD barcharts and so on
Another possible reason for not mentioning Virenda Sharma on the Ealing Labour Party website is the extreme difficulty in finding anything positive to say about him.
Sitting on the back benches keeping one’s mouth shut but raising one’s hand when told to is hardly exciting stuff.
I looked at Ealing Labour website photo gallery…it isn’t run by Gurcharan Singh’s ardent supporters…the photo gallery has too many Sonika’s pics and none of Mr Singh!
The ‘Labour Home’ site exposes the splits in the local party over the selection of their candidate. They seem very worried about the ‘Lib Dem threat’:

Ealing Southall is one of three constituencies in Ealing. Mark’s post was disingenuous because he knew this I’d guess and he also knew that there was a dedicated website for Ealing Southall. I’d agree that there should ideally be at least a link from the Local Govt Committee web presence to the Campaign site. This would at least stop LD bloggers having to pretend to be dozy for a cheap point, quite lost onthe people of ES.
I think the most neglected LD web presence I found was about seven months with no news. And Mr Leech’s own up here still doesn’t show any sign of activity in the ward he is supposed to represent on the council. Just one example.
Still, it’s a wonder the mischief you lot can create around a non-story is it not. Charitie Cancer Closure being an excellent example of that particular trait.
Sorry, that shouls say Christie. Leech is still insisting he was right. Right to stick out a closure hoax to people in chemo waiting rooms? I don’t think so.
Mr Paul:- you have been so busy commenting on this site today, I thought it would be a shame if I ignored you.
So I have gone and read your blog and I am rather puzzled. You don’t seem to take much care over evidence yourself (e.g. echoing the Tory by-election poster smears on the Liberal Democrats, without presenting any evidence).
Yet at a whisper of criticism of your own party you fly into a flurry of typing.
Perhaps you should take a step back and ask what impression you leave of yourself? I think you’ll find it isn’t one that helps your own party or your own cause.

So, reporting a TORY STORY that Lib Dems are doing lotteries for posters (which has a certain believability given the stuff you definitely get up to) is in some way equivalent to the vile Christie Cancer Closure Hoax?
This is projection. That WAS without evidence. My story on posters reports other people’s stories and is evidenced by links to those stories.
Get a grip mate. Mark’s story about this web site is a non-story and it says a lot for how daft you lot are that we’re now onto almost 20 comments.

I like your descent into irony Mr Paul. You post the first two comments in this thread, and one in five of the comments in total, and then comment about the number of comments.
PS Have you gone back and read what you wrote about posters? You praised the story. In other words you were happy to praise an accusation made without any evidence to justify it. It is rather cute, I think (if that’s not getting too personal), to see someone think that sort of behaviour helps their cause.
