The keen eyed among you will have noticed that Lib Dem Voice took a slight holiday last night, courtesy of our web provider. Apologies for that! So, let’s get back in to the swing of things:
Defection-o-rama continues, with a “senior Labour councillor” in Essex seeing the yellow light*.
Liberal Review have picked up on an update to the Tory cash-for-dinners inquiry.
That nice Mr Wherry from party HQ has fixed my Lib Dem News subscription, so PPC notices etc will resume shortly.
Many are wondering what Paul Walter said about Keith Chegwin, though I’m sure the entire political blogosphere will unite in support of… Paul Walter, especially those of us who were forced to watch the return of Swap Shop on BBC2 at Christmas.
I did a sort of bloginterview with Stephen Tall just after Christmas explaining some of why Lib Dem Voice exists, so if you’ve ever wondered you’ll find it here in two parts. The interview was done in the interests of continued openness, rather than the ‘pompous-narcissitic-wanker‘ism that is being laid at my door in an increasingly anonymous conversation on a particular blog. It may be a cliché, but so long as the number of people accusing me of being out to bring the party down with my irresponsible reporting, and the number of people accusing me of being a party lacky remain reasonably balanced, I’m happy.
Don’t forget the Guantanamo vigil tonight if you’re able to be there (which, unfortunately, I’m not – but would welcome pictures). Thanks to Chris Leaman for bringing the vigil to LDV’s attention.

Nice to see that you’re creaming off the far-left from the Labour Party…
