I think there aren’t anything like enough women in the blogosphere. But this kind of “shortlist” is surely not the answer?

Ooo… I don’t think you realise the can of worms that kind of statement can open.

Haha, I read that post first time around and took my cue from it (and from my own liberal instincts, of course).

OHMYGOD!
I must go and book a facial immediately, and it is straigh back onto the Atkins diet for me! I think I may need to lie down, with a glass of wine… I could be gone for some time.
Thank you so much.

I was going to get my knickers in a twist (sorry very un-feminist statement there) but mustn’t be precious about this :@)
My blog has only been up less than 15 weeks so it’s a great honour to be a rival to Lynne and Alix.
Best of luck to everyone and thanks to everyone who voted for me! :@)

The Republic’s grateful thanks to all who nominated me and also the bloggers who made me go all gruff and embarrassed and pink with their posts on the subject - I hope I thanked everyone individually, but this is in case I didn’t.
