Oh no! Sorry about that. Serves me right for thinking there was only one Eid :-( Would you like to make up a question in advance instead and I’ll ask it on your behalf?

I am thinking that this is the most important issue facing the world today, and I cannot think of a question…

So, Steve, are you really as useless as the Mirror says that Nick Clegg said that you are?

I don’t think so, but then I am a fan of properly-researched and argued positions. Perhaps the reference was to your support in the Lib Dem leadership elections?

There’s a question I’d be interested in the answer to.

According to the Guardian, Vince Cable told journalists in a pre-pre-budget-report briefing that the proposed 4p cut in the basic rate of income tax would be partly funded by green taxes – “About £3bn of this would come from green taxes and the rest from closing tax avoidance opportunities and tax reliefs enjoyed by the wealthy”:

When this policy was originally announced, the press reported that the “green switch” element would be £6.7 billion:

Is the Guardian report correct, and if so why has the “green switch” shrunk from £6.7bn to only £3bn?
