Stephen promises free nursery places for all two-year-olds

The Scottish Liberal Democrat conference is underway (you can watch a conference video below – the narrator’s voice may sound familiar), and Nicol Stephen is going to unveil a key plank of the Scottish Lib Dems election manifesto – free nursery places for two-year-olds. He will also reaffirm his commitment to a 100% renewable energy target by 2050.

Guantanamo Bay vigil

Last night there was a vigil for two British residents in Guantanamo Bay – one of whom is a constituent of Ed Davey MP and the other of Sarah Teather MP. As the two were resident in the UK but not British citizens, the Government has refused to take up their cases:

Norman Baker and Lib Dems to march against climate chaos, on 4th November

The main UK environmental campaign organisations have declared 4 November – on the eve of crucial climate change talks in Nairobi, Kenya – as a day of action. Thousands of people will be flocking to central London to join a march, rallies and festivities.
