You couldn’t make it up!
Is this the curse of the electoral register change again? If you get donations by standing order you need to re-register the donation each year showing the new electoral register number… otherwise the donation is forfait for that year even though the donor is actually on the register. Some LibDem local party somewhere will be caught out this year unless we have an unprecedentedly efficient set of treasurers returns.
so what were the details, where did the £7000 come from that was illegal

I think the whole matter is a set up and we shouldnt get too involved.
embarrassing story about donations announced on the one day gaurenteed to see political covereage of only one main political party – I can’t think why waited until they announced that.
